Private coaching

Reinvent in private.

One-to-one coaching with Amy for a reinvention you need to work through privately. Built around your situation and your calendar.

Introduce yourself →By introduction. Nothing is charged until you both say yes.

A place for what you cannot say yet.

Some decisions change your work and your life at once. The people involved may be close, the timing fixed, and the question hard to put to anyone who knows you.

  • The move

You are weighing a change nobody at work can know about yet, or building something of your own while the role still pays.

  • The people

You may have to change the team you built, or work through a problem you cannot explain without naming someone.

  • The role

You know the next move but cannot yet name who you will be, or you have been asked to name a successor and wonder who you are without the role.

Amy asks the questions no one at work will.

She draws on the five steps of reinvention, in the order your situation needs them.

  • Amy’s full attention, on your situation only. Every session is about you and what is in front of you.
  • Private conversations with Amy. What you say stays with Amy, within the limits our Terms describe.
  • A set number of private sessions, agreed at the start. Over several months, by video, at times that fit your calendar.
  • Small, specific work between sessions. Built from what came up in the session.

Stop circling. Start moving.

It is rarely a straight line. Often what moves most is quiet: a new way of seeing what you already do.

  • You know what you will do first.
  • You have words for who you will be next.
  • Amy has heard all of it, and the direction is still yours.

Before anything begins, you have a one-to-one call with Amy, to decide together whether private coaching is right for you. If it is, the scope and the price are agreed in writing.

If there is a date on your situation, say so in your introduction, so it can be read with that in mind.

Your guide

Dr. Amy Taylor-Bianco

PhD, Columbia University · Professor of management · ICF‑trained coach

Amy works one to one with leaders facing a turn they cannot talk through in public. Some need to make a decision at work without showing that they are weighing it.

She has coached executives and designed leadership education for many years. She reads people and situations quickly, then asks the questions that help you choose what to do next.

Is this for you?

Amy says yes only when she thinks she can help.

This is for you if

  • You have a decision you need to work through privately.
  • You would rather be asked a hard question than be told what you want to hear.
  • You can give regular time and do small work between sessions.

Not for you if

  • You are not ready to work on it yet.
  • You want someone to hand you the answer. Amy asks the questions. The work is yours.
  • You need a new job this month. A recruiter will serve you faster.

Questions you may have.

Will anyone at work know?

What you say in sessions stays between you and Amy, except where the law or someone’s safety requires otherwise. Your introduction is never sold, published or shared for marketing.

Do I have to name my employer or the people involved?

No. The introduction does not ask for either, and you can write it without them. What you share in sessions is your choice. Amy can work with a situation described in outline.

Is this therapy?

No. Amy is a coach and a social scientist, not a therapist. The work starts from what is already working and looks forward, at a decision and what follows it. If what you need is therapy, she will say so, and suggest you start there.

How long does it last, and what does it cost?

Several months, with a set number of sessions agreed at the start. You hear the price on your first call. The scope and the price are in writing before you commit, and nothing is charged until you are accepted and agree.

Do I need to know exactly what I want to change?

No. You can start with what feels unresolved. Amy will ask questions to help you name what is happening before you decide what to do next.

What if my situation is not a fit?

Amy will say so plainly and suggest where she would start instead.

If you have any questions, ask Amy.

Hear from the Peak Reinventors

I was starting a new job and learning to set boundaries and say no. Before a conversation with HR, Amy coached me through what it might look like. Before this, I don’t know if I could have gone in and done it.

Jaime

I make thousands of micro decisions every day, moving between very different conversations. Amy turns chaos into clarity. She changed the way I see the world, and I now recognize turning points I used to let pass.

Kevin

Private coaching starts with a short introduction.

  1. Tell Amy where you are and why now. It takes about eight minutes.

  2. Within two working days, Amy replies with a time for a call, or with when she next has a place.
